Early or late `57 EK1. ?

Hello guys,

i just got this yesterday, a nice EK1, and i think its an early type, its 3 piece and magnetic. The hardware looks to me like an early one.

IMHO you have found yourself a nice & early S&L EK1 ... cant pinpoint the exact period, I'll leave that to the "cross boys" .

A very nice, and early S&L new form EK1 I'd say that this dates from the early 1960's.

Nice early S & L EK1!!!
Good quality finish, early style pin and solid hingeblock, matt painted core, with nicely detailed oakleaves and acorns!!!
Somewhere around 1960 i should think!! -Nigel

That solid hinge block is indicative of a very early cross! Like the others have said, it's probably 1960 or so.
